Atlas in Rockefeller Plaza

The Rockefeller Center bet W50 and W51. West 48^th to 51^st Streets between 5^th and 6^th Avenues  now has 21 buildingsThe International Building, and its southerly frontage on 630 Fifth Avenue in New York City became known as the Palazzo d’Italia which displays the atlas, a bronze 45-foot-tall statue, created in 1937 by Lee Lawrie and Rene Paul Chambellan. Rockefeller Plaza became a national historic landmark in 1987.
